bunnies and jesus [Apr. 16th, 2006|08:16 pm]
[mood | naughty]
[music |Tickets to What you Need-Badly Drawn Boy]

I'm pretty nervous, not gonna lie. I really am glad to be getting back into a normal schedule. I'll be glad to be using my brain again, other than to be able to explain to someone why olive oil is a really great natural moisturizer. I really miss feeling like I've done a really good job and worked hard to get my work done. I'm looking forward to retaking my Series 66 and actually passing it this time.

My parents came up this weekend. It was so nice to see them. I miss them a lot sometimes even though I really haven't lived at home for 5 years. We got to go to the aquarium which was insane. It was so packed in there. The crowds are going to be incredible tomorrow due to the holiday and the marathon.

I got to see Jesse and Mark this weekend which is never a dull time. Kyle showed up a few drinks into the evening and was a really good sport about Mark being a total weirdo. He was acting like such a chick, whispering in my ear all night about the guys walking into the bar and a few other things that I dare not write here. After Jesse and Mark left, Kyle and I wandered over to another bar and I met some more interesting characters. I haven't had that much fun in a while.

So overall it was a pretty amazing weekend, and I'm very much looking forward to the next one.

Do you know what a wonderful feeling is? It's knowing that you really don't care anymore. That's really something for me. Whatever someone else does is ultimately out of my control, and I am no longer worrying about what path they might take. I don't care! It amazes me how liberating it feels.

I'm watching American Idol with Erin and Jess right now. We're two songs in and they are butchering Queen! This one dude totally tried to rearrange the vocals for 'We Will Rock You' to make himself different from the Freddie Mercury we all know and love. It was horrible!! I think Freddie's turning over in his grave right now. I hope Brian May hits them all over the head with his guitar.

[music |I'll Be Seeing You-Billie Holiday]

This weekend was awesome! I am so glad I got to meet all the friends and family of the bride. They are all really lovely people and at least now I know I can talk to someone when I'm there. Everything went off without a hitch and everyone had such a good time. I met a woman there who was really nice. She's one of those people that I felt an instant connection with and if it wouldn't have been totally rude to just stand in one spot all day and not talk to other people, I am sure we would have talked the afternoon away. After telling each other a little bit about ourselves, she told me that the next time she saw me, she know that I would be really happy. I don't know why, but that really made me feel more optimistic about things. Haha! And she also told me that my aura is pink. Here's what one web site says about that. I guess the pink is a mix between purple and red, so I put those in there too.

Purple: indicates spiritual thoughts. Purple is never a strong point in the Aura. It appears only as temporary "clouds" and "flames", indicating truly spiritual thoughts.

Red: materialistic thoughts, thoughts about the physical body. Predominantly red Aura indicates materialistically oriented person.

Pink (=purple+red): love (in a spiritual sense). To obtain a clean pink, you need to mix the purple (the highest frequency we perceive) with red (the lowest frequency). Pink Aura indicates that the person achieved a perfect balance between spiritual awareness and the material existence. The most advanced people have not only a yellow halo around the head (a permanent strong point in the Aura) but also a large pink Aura extending further away. The pink color in the Aura is quite rare on Earth and appears only as a temporary thought, never as a strong point in the Aura.

I got back into town and met up with a friend at Espresso. We sat and talked for a couple of hours about life, music, relationships, and whatnot. After getting a bit pumped up with some tea, I went to Lucky's and met up with someone else. We got to listen to some pretty sweet jazz standards. Drinking on a Sunday feels somewhat sacrilegious, but somehow I think I'll live with myself. It was a lot of fun, and it's too bad that Monday obligations have to cut into having a good time.

Anywho, it's my last week at Lush. I begin my new job one week from today. I can't wait to execute my first trade. It's not hard to do or anything, but I haven't done it since I got my Series 7 back in September. Now I'll finally get to use all that crap that I studied my ass off for all last summer! When I went in for my second interview at the firm, I found out that I'll only be one of three people who has the Series 31. I have no idea why Morgan Stanley made me get that. No one I know uses futures. Once upon a time it was a good way to invest in commodities, but for the most part, futures presently tend to benefit the broker more so than the client.

I think I've lost half of you so I'm going to end it here. Overall, it was an awesome weekend. Mom and Dad are coming to Boston on Friday! I can't wait!

It kind of makes sense that Karl would be the villain. Probably wants the ring for himself...to help him take over Canada. Yes, he's that evil.

I'm not moving after May 31st! YAYYY! I forget to send in my lease renewal form and thought I was going to be stuck moving in the middle of the week not too long after starting a new job. I called up the management, and now all is right in the world; at least with my living arrangements.

I was looking for something that I have that has a lot of sentimental value today. I couldn't find it anywhere and I was freaking out that I'd lost it. I finally found it in a secret hiding place that I'd made when I moved in back in June. Yes, I have a secret hiding place in my own apartment. Even I'm thinking that that's silly.

V for Vendetta was interesting, but I'm not sure what to make of it all yet. Visually it was really good, but story-wise something wasn't working for me.

I just tried on a bra that I got about a year ago. I really only wore it once or twice since then and now it's too big!

Hello, body? Hi, the wrong parts are shrinking. It's supposed to come off of my ass, not my chest. Thank you.
Love,
me

Ugh. I couldn't finish my workout today because I felt like so much crap. I called my mom up afterwards to get some advice, and she didn't completely listen to the question and goes off on some tangent. I asked her again what I was really trying to get the answer to so she got all mad, started yelling, and then we had a huge shouting match. Sometimes there's no reasoning with her. Argh! Mothers are crazy.

Long story short, the interview went really really well yesterday. They immediately asked me back for a second interview and that will happen today at 2:30. It's a small company and I think I could really see myself working there. The people seem really cool, the job looks like a good stepping stone for other opportunities, and I know I'll be really happy to be on a regular schedule again. Anywho, I will let y'all know how it goes. Thank you to everyone who's wished me luck!

When they say the number of times I've had it, they mean this year right? Not that last year was anything spectacular number-wise.

Oh man, the vagueness of LJ really screws with people. I'm sorry, peeps. Let's just say that some people who emerge from the past should have stayed there to begin with. High school's over and done with and I shouldn't give a damn about those who I left behind there that I'm not still friends with. Why do I let people who aren't in my life bother me? Poof! Ok, I'm done.

P.S. Last night consisted of me, one married woman, and five gay men. Can we say awesome?
